Anne Fleming

Learning that our actions have consequences is a lifelong lesson and an essential part of growing up for every child. Join two veteran children’s writers for a meaningful conversation about what taking responsibility really means, as told through two engaging stories of friendships, family relationships and summertime. Governor General’s Award–nominee Andrew Larsen’s latest work, Dingus, shares the journey of Henry, a likeable boy who nevertheless needs to pay attention to how his actions affect others. Heather T. Smith’s captivating story of betrayal and forgiveness experienced by Jett is written in free verse and has been hailed as “nearly note perfect.” Stories like these are an ideal conversation starter about personal responsibility, empathy and courage.
