The Vancouver Writers Fest presents
79. Poets Talking

Moderator: Ian Williams

Two Griffin Poetry Prize winning poets discuss their approach to craft, read from their work, and share the inspiration behind their words.

Dive into the minds of two Griffin Poetry Prize winning poets: Billy-Ray Belcourt and Eve Joseph. Belcourt’s This Wound is a World exemplifies poetry at its “most intimate and politically necessary”: work he continues in NDN Coping Mechanisms, an illuminating, genre-bending exploration of NDN and queer realities. Joseph’s Quarrels, finds “new music” in the marvellous and the illogical. In conversation with award-winning poet and novelist Ian Williams, these poetry heavyweights join forces, discussing their approach to craft, reading from their work and sharing the inspiration behind their words. This rare conversation between literary virtuosos will leave you breathless.
