80. Good Reads

The Vancouver Writers Fest presents

Moderator: Caroline Adderson

More than anyone, we understand the difficulty of picking just one book to read! Selecting a title that provides hours of scintillating conversation is a challenge every book club regularly faces. Look no further for a thought-provoking new pick than these authors who span cultures, yet are united by their stories of strong women, vivid descriptions and great heart. Giller-Prize winner Esi Edugyan shares the story of a young slave boy in her new novel, Washington Black. Uzma Jalaluddin’s twist on a coming-of-age tale, Ayesha At Last, is a captivating romance centred around a young Muslim woman. Monique Gray Smith’s Tilly and the Crazy Eights follows Tilly driving eight elders to a Pow Wow, while Dear Evelyn spans seven decades of a wartime marriage, as imagined by Kathy Page.
